Our client is a prominent national not-for-profit and registered charity dedicated to providing affordable, secure housing and reducing housing poverty. Operating with a high-impact, mission-first ethos for over 30 years, they manage approximately 12,000 homes across Australia, with thousands more to be added in the next few years. They are committed to leveraging advanced digital workflows and a robust Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem to optimise service delivery for the diverse populations they support.

The Role

The Senior Dynamics Developer will provide high-level design, development, and support for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem, including D365 CRM and Zavanti for tenancy/property management, D365 Business Central for financials, and several add-ons and integrations. This critical role aims to reduce reliance on external partners through safe, well-governed in-house delivery. You will contribute to solution design and documentation as well as overall architecture and SDLC processes, integrating with various other systems and data sources (via APIs or other mechanisms as appropriate), with a strong emphasis on security, privacy, and supportability.

Reporting to the Solutions Delivery Manager, this role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining Dynamics/Dataverse customisations and enhancements, including changes within D365 CRM/Zavanti and Business Central.

Key Areas of Focus

  • Dynamics/Dataverse Solution Design & Development: Lead the configuration and development of Microsoft Dynamics 365/Dataverse solutions, including data model changes, plugins, custom workflow activities, and solution packaging.
  • Integrations & Platform Engineering: Design and build robust integrations between Dynamics/Dataverse and other enterprise systems using APIs, webhooks, and Azure components to ensure reliable and auditable data exchange.
  • Security & Privacy by Design: Ensure solutions meet strict security and privacy requirements through least-privilege access, appropriate role design, and secure authentication patterns.
  • Zavanti & Business Central Enhancement: Implement fixes and enhancements within Zavanti and D365 Business Central (including AL extensions) while adhering to strict governance and version-control practices.
  • Technical Leadership & Governance: Provide guidance on design choices, mentor peers to improve overall capability, and promote strong solution governance, including environment strategy (ALM) and release management.

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will bring senior-level expertise and a proactive approach to technical leadership. You will have:

  • Technical Expertise: Senior-level experience in solution design and hands-on development of Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Dataverse solutions using C# (.NET) and JavaScript.
  • Integration & ALM Skills: Strong experience with REST APIs and a thorough understanding of SDLC and ALM principles, including environment management and solution-based deployments.
  • Platform Knowledge: Proficiency in Power Apps and Power Automate, along with experience in D365 Business Central (AL extensions) or D365 Finance.
  • Communication & Collaboration Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clarify business needs, discuss potential solutions, and collaborate effectively across the Systems Division and beyond.
  • Qualifications: A degree in computer science or IT (or equivalent experience).
  • Mission Alignment: A genuine passion for community-led outcomes and the social impact of providing sustainable housing solutions.
