About the Tenancy Manager role and about you

As a Tenancy Manager, you’ll be the primary point of contact for our tenants, ensuring their needs are met with care, respect, and efficiency. You’ll play a critical role in supporting sustainable tenancies by managing day-to-day tenancy matters while connecting tenants to services that improve their wellbeing. This is a rewarding opportunity to combine strong property/tenancy management skills with a genuine passion for helping people.

To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced Tenancy Manager, passionate about delivering exceptional service and creating positive outcomes for tenants and communities.

Duties

  • Act as the main point of contact for tenants and keep them informed throughout issue resolution
  • Proactively manage rent arrears and tenant debt to meet KPIs and maintain financial sustainability
  • Conduct regular home visits to monitor property condition, tenancy issues, and anti-social behaviour, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve complex tenancy issues
  • Prepare and manage cases for NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) hearings
  • Support tenant wellbeing by linking tenants to relevant support services, and participate in support coordination and community/placemaking activities

We are taking applications for both permanent and contract roles, based at our St Leonards office with travel to portfolio in St Leonards and surrounding areas as required.

Selection criteria

To be addressed in cover letter:

  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including vulnerable people experiencing homelessness, rough sleepers, people managing mental health issues, experiencing domestic and family violence, people with disability, young people, older people
  • Experience in property management in the real estate industry or in public or community housing sector
  • Knowledge and understanding of NSW Residential Tenancies Act 2010
  • Good written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate
  • Self-motivated with a learning mindset, with experience working autonomously
  • Current NSW driving license
