The Opportunity

This is a hands-on Training Manager role based in Alice Springs, leading a small, close‑knit team of approximately 5 staff (and growing), including trainers, admin and support staff.

You’ll manage day-to-day training operations, support staff performance and wellbeing, and step in to assist with training delivery, pre-training assessments and leave coverage when needed. This role is about being present, approachable and involved in day-to-day operations of the Alice Springs team.

You’ll also play a key role in business development and community engagement, building strong relationships with local stakeholders, attending community events and promoting services. As demand grows, so will the team, this role directly influences growth and functioning of STEPS in Alice Springs.

About You

  • A collaborative, people-first leadership style and a genuine passion for education and training
  • Experience leading or coordinating training teams within an RTO or similar environment
  • The ability to jump in and help, from sitting with students to supporting trainers on delivery
  • Strong skills in staff performance management, regular check-ins and supportive leadership
  • Confidence in building local relationships, engaging stakeholders and representing the organisation
  • An understanding of compliance, quality assurance and performance requirements in training
  • A willingness to work fully on-site and be part of the Alice Springs community

Essential qualifications & requirements:

  • TAE40122 / TAE40116 (or equivalent) – required at commencement
  • Foundation Skills (FSK) qualification – or willingness to obtain within 3 months
  • NT Ochre Card
  • National Police Check
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Right to work in Australia
