Position Overview

  • Mentor Case Managers in the community to develop disability expertise.
  • Regular travel in the Geelong and Ballarat districts as well as to our Melbourne CBD based office (car provided).
  • 3 days per week until 30 June 2022.

Founded in 1872, we are Victoria’s oldest and only specialised criminal justice reintegration service. We provide reintegration, family, and employment support that enables people to create new beginnings for themselves and their families.

The Opportunity

This exciting role needs your disability sector know-how coupled with your wealth of experience working with clients with a range of disabilities, particularly those with cognitive impairments.

Working collaboratively with the ReConnect Program Manager, you will build the capacity of our passionate outreach team to improve outcomes for forensic clients with disabilities. The focus is to develop our field workers’ specialist disability case management skills and build connections with disability networks to facilitate referrals. In addition, you will work as a specialist disability subject matter expert to identify ongoing training needs and develop practical learning resources.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or other relevant field.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of best practice approaches of working with individuals with a disability particularly those with cognitive impairment.
  • Case management experience with complex clients with a range of disabilities.
  • Peer support, mentoring or coaching experience.
  • Solid experience working with networks within the disability sector and NDIS.
  • Experience in training program design and delivery is highly regarded.
