About us

The Jewish Holocaust Centre is Australia’s only institution solely dedicated to Holocaust education, research, and remembrance, fostering the values of tolerance and understanding, and preserving the testimonies of our Survivors.

Established by Survivors in 1984, the Centre is now an award-winning Museum and Research Centre, which enjoys an enviable reputation. Annually our education programs are attended by over 23,000 students, we hold over 100 events, and welcome thousands of local and international visitors.

The Centre houses more than 1,500 Survivor testimonies, approximately 20,000 artefacts from both the pre-war and Holocaust eras and mounts professional and well attended special exhibitions.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Developing engaging content that tells a compelling story through emotional language and evidence, which inspires positive change and action
  • Uplifting digital capabilities (email, content and social)
  • Promoting events through Social channels and monthly newsletters
  • Liaising with external, third party providers and contributors
  • Participating and contributing to the broader organisation strategy, team engagement and where applicable audience and community engagement
  • Provide learnings and recommendations around content, channel and approach, to improve performance and shape future strategies
  • Copywriting for various digital channels, including web articles, blogs and social media, ensuring SEO best practice and keyword research is applied throughout
  • Curate social captions which are engaging and monitor performance to deliver maximum results
  • Creating graphics and images for use across our digital and print platforms as required
  • Schedule, publish and manage social media activity including organic and paid posts
  • Reporting to the Head of Engagement, you’ll assist in developing digital and social content calendars

Qualifications & experience

  • Tertiary Qualification Marketing / Digital Marketing
  • Proven experience managing digital marketing campaigns from start to finish
  • Confidence with all core digital disciplines, including Web, Performance Media, SEO, Content and Social, Reputation Management and Reporting
  • Experience managing all forms of social media channels Produce content that motivates, inspires, educates, informs, sells, and simply, provides information, across a wide variety of digital platforms
  • Passionate about self-development, proactively seeking out opportunities to keep across new industry trends or technologies
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Outcome focused, and confident in making decisions without necessarily having all of the information

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to join the JHC as we prepare for the re-opening of our new museum in 2022. This role will have the opportunity to play a large role in the how we can be elevating our content and digital engagement as we develop a new brand identity and museum.
