Jewish Care Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation, is the largest provider of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria. Services include Aged Residential Care, Assessment Referral and Individual Support Services, Community Aged Care, Disability, Mental Health, Youth and Family Services and Holocaust Survivors Programs.
We are now seeking a Project Manager with experience in business and/or working with people with a disability to join the Jewish Care Employment Centre. This is part of the Individual and Family Support Team, and you will manage a 34 month project funded by the Economic and Community Participation Program through the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
The main goal of this role is to develop a plan that will describe the activities required to engage with and prepare Small to Medium Business Employers (SMEs) for recruiting people with a disability. It will focus on making pathways simpler to encourage people with disabilities to apply for jobs and network easier.
This project is about challenging myths, reducing bias and unconscious bias, providing information about various disabilities and providing examples of successful integration. We hope to develop some answers and ideas for encouraging SMEs to employ people with a disability through a number of communication and discovery sessions using one on one discussions, stakeholder workshops, forums and focus groups.
Even while the economy recovers from COVID-19 there are distinct opportunities for SMEs as well as people with a disability. It is the function of this role to explain and reveal these to the various stakeholders.
Jewish Care is committed to the professional development of all staff, providing ongoing opportunities to upgrade staff skill set and expertise. We aim to provide the highest standard of professional and personal support offering flexibility and conditions not readily available elsewhere, including the option of maximising your income with salary packaging.
Jewish Care employs staff from all cultural and religious backgrounds and provides cultural and spiritual training in the Jewish Ethos. Our recruitment procedures reflect our commitment to the safety and protection of our clients. Relevant screening and police checks will be conducted.
Jewish Care proudly celebrates and warmly welcomes the rich diversity of our community and strives to be inclusive for all, including the LGBT+ community.
