About the role

The International Programs Coordinator (IPC) accompanies Jesuit Mission Australia’s international partners to design, implement, monitor and evaluate high-quality community development programs. You will help ensure our expanding program portfolio and associated finances, documentation and safeguarding practices meet legislative, regulatory, compliance and best-practice standards. The role reports to the International Programs Director and works closely with the CEO, CFO, Fundraising and Engagement Director and the wider International Programs Team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead program and partnership management across assigned countries, including program design, contracting and funding tranches.
  • Strengthen partner capacity in governance, safeguarding, program management and learning, using a strengths-based approach.
  • Coordinate monitoring, evaluation and learning processes, including data quality, partner support and outcome reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strengthen financial stewardship across the portfolio, including review of partner budgets, acquittals and early identification of risks or variances.
  • Contribute to organisational learning through case studies, insights and reporting that supports fundraising and supporter engagement.
  • Support improvement of systems, tools and documentation, and contribute to compliance, safeguarding and risk management processes.

Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in International Development, Community Development or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in international program management.
  • Demonstrated skills in program design, design/monitoring, evaluation and learning (DMEL), and partner capacity strengthening.
  • Experience in safeguarding and working with partners to implement best practice.
  • Strong financial management skills and confidence working with budgets and reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal, intercultural and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, including reporting and proposal inputs.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Competence using MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Jesuit Mission Australia.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience with faith-based INGOs and/or Jesuit partners.
  • Experience with humanitarian response and/or grant management.
