We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time marketing and communications coordinator to join our marketing team. The coordinator will be a vital support to the marketing team of 4, to help deliver innovative, multi-channel campaigns across research, fundraising, community engagement, advocacy, and brand marketing.

The role will report to the Communications and Sponsorship Manager and is suited to someone early in their marketing career who is keen to be exposed to a full range of marketing and communications activities, designed to deliver meaningful change for the 125,000+ Australians living with T1D.  

Main Purpose

As the JDRF Marketing and Communications Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting and driving key programs, ensuring projects are delivered effectively and aiding the smooth running of all key activities.

This role will span all organisational focus areas and would suit a current or early career marketing/communications professional with an interest in health, not-for-profit marketing and advocacy.

Strong writing for multiple audiences and channels is essential and knowledge of marketing channels and tools e.g., email marketing, content management, social and CRM preferred.

While reporting to the Communications and Sponsorship Manager, you will work closely with the entire marketing team and have access to teams across the JDRF organisation.

This role has the opportunity for learning and development via the JDRF marketing team and external communications partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective project management and administration of marketing campaigns and always on activity
  • Support the maintenance of the JDRF brand and associated owned channels
  • Develop and manage the delivery of content across paid, owned and earned channels including community management
  • Support the management of partner agency workloads and projects 
  • Take a lead on key communication channels, notably EDM and social, to ensure our brand and tone of voice are delivered effectively 
  • Management and oversight of merchandise, collateral, and other external materials.
  • Ongoing marketing administration to support all team activity
  • Alongside the support role, the chosen individual will have the opportunity to own certain campaign elements and be exposed to all parts of the marketing and brand management activity with practical, hands-on experience

Experience & Skills

  • A passion for, or experience in, NFP marketing/communications
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • Skills in writing and content across audiences and channels  
  • A baseline understanding of marketing strategy 
  • Strong verbal and nonverbal communications skills
  • Ability to work proactively and complete activities within deadlines
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn more about, the Australian political landscape
  • Understand, demonstrate and promote JDRF Values
