Team Leader - Supported Accommodation

We are looking for an experienced Full Time Team Leader to lead and manage a team providing support to four female clients living in one of our four group homes, in Matraville. As Team Leader you will be responsible for ensuring that the people you are supporting have meaningful engagement with the community in all its forms and ensuring their complex needs are being met.

You will work hands on with the clients seven days of the fortnight with three days a fortnight dedicated to supporting and coaching the team, liaising & working together with all relevant stake holders in relation to client wellbeing, and service delivery matters and participating in monitoring and evaluation of service performance and client outcomes.

You will need to be:

  • Flexible in your working hours, able to start at 06.00 and work the shift that finishes at 22.00, willing to work active night and weekend shifts.
  • Have an understanding of the NDIS.
  • Outcome focused, motivated, able to prioritise your workload and have excellent time management.
  • Available to be on-call on a 5-6 week roster basis.

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Disability, Social Work, Social Science, Allied Health or Nursing
  • Strong people management experience, including staff supervision, coaching and ability to facilitate complex team dynamics
  • Ability to facilitate and implement Person Centred plans, Behaviour Support plans and Health Care plans
  • Experience in working with people with a disability and challenging behaviours, preferably within a supported accommodation setting
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a range of activities that encourage access to the community
  • Sound knowledge of NDIS and Supported Independent Living
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain links with families
  • Current drivers licence and willingness to drive
  • An understanding and commitment to the principles of the NDIS code of conduct, knowledge of relevant legislation, WHS legislation and its implications for clients
  • High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude
  • Intermediate to advanced level of computer skills
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills
  • Willingness to work across a range of shifts including weekends and participate in On Call Roster
  • First Aid Certificate and Epilepsy Certificate or wiliness to obtain prior to commencement

  • Knowledge, sensitivity and an understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture
  • Knowledge and experience of people with mental health issues
