inTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence has an exciting opportunity for a strategically minded Head of Finance who can display strong financial and accounting acumen with a detailed oriented approach.

  • Lead the finance function of a specialist not-for-profit family violence organisation.

About the Role

The Head of Finance will demonstrate financial leadership, showing initiative, innovation and have a business savvy approach to the financial dealings of the organisation. The position is responsible for the overall finance functions of the organisation, including management reporting, audit support, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.

The position is also responsible to oversee improvement of financially related internal controls and processes across the wider organisation and to support the operations through effective management of suppliers.

The role requires the incumbent to have strong financial acumen combined with effective communication and interpersonal skills. Success in the role demands sound planning and organisational skills, along with the ability to multi-task, prioritise, make clear decisions and take accountability for the teams service delivery.

In this role, your key focus area will be:

  • Business Partnering: Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to meet the finance needs of the organisation.
  • Financial Management, Risk and Compliance: Craft and implement robust executive processes in alignment with strategic and operational plans.
  • Organisational Change: Drive contemporary financial management, ensuring organisational performance and success.
  • People Management and Team Leadership: Inspire and lead a team, promoting professional growth and building a resilient, high-achieving workforce.

You’ll also need:

  • Min 5+ years’ professional experience as a manager in a finance or management accountant role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or finance coupled with current CPA / CA.
  • A track record in building strong quality improvement systems.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing grant and/or funding administration in a for purpose (NFP) environment.
  • People leadership experience in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Experience supporting Board and Sub Committees.
