About the role:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Coordinator to lead our Children’s Contact Service (CCS) in Coolangatta. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role within a well-established, award-winning not-for-profit committed to supporting families for more than 100 years.

In this leadership role, you will lead a small, passionate team delivering safe, neutral, and child-focused contact arrangements for families experiencing separation and conflict.

You will play a key part in helping children maintain meaningful relationships with family members in a supportive, structured environment. This includes overseeing supervised contact visits, supporting smooth changeovers, and ensuring best-practice child-centred service delivery.

Key Duties will include:

• Coordinate the daily operations of the CCS to ensure smooth, high-quality service delivery
• Provide leadership, development, and clinical supervision to Contact Workers
• Manage staffing rosters, team meetings, supervision schedules, and recruitment support
• Conduct intake, assessment, risk screening, case planning and review
• Support staff with observation reports, documentation, and case notes
• Build and maintain positive community networks and referral pathways
• Ensure compliance with safety, child protection, and quality standards
• Contribute to ongoing service improvement and respond to information requests from courts and statutory agencies

The position is a Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2028, working 75hrs per fortnight, Monday to Friday in our Coolangatta office.

The hourly rate is in line with a SCHADS Award Level 6, $63.00 per hour (Mon-Fri), $94.50 per hour (Sat).

Role Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counselling, or related discipline
2. Demonstrated experience and skills in:
   1. working in a Children’s Contact Service and/or with families and children experiencing separation, family breakdown and high levels of family conflict
   2. one or more areas of clinical work, e.g. counselling, dispute resolution, relationship education, children’s services, men’s programs, family law etc.
   3. management, supervision and training of staff, along with supervision training (or willingness to obtain)
   4. working with families within a case management setting
   5. managing high parental conflict whilst upholding the best interest of children
   6. program management
3. solutions focused and interpersonal communication skills
4. report writing, case notes, data collection and data entry
5. liaising with the community and building local networks
6. dealing with Family Law Court procedures
7. working with online systems and technology, such as a CRM (Client Relationship Management) System, Zoom and Microsoft Team
8. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of:
   1. child development, child protection and family violence issues
   2. the existing framework of the Children’s Contact Service, and a demonstrated capacity to work within it
9. Current First Aid Certificates as follows: Provide CPR (HLTAID009), Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTAID010), Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012), or willingness to attain them within the first month of employment
