About the role:

Interrelate's Children’s Contact Service (CCS) provides a safe space for families to connect, rebuild trust, and nurture relationships. Our service is designed to support children who do not live with, or regularly see, one or both parents. We offer supervised contact and changeover/change-back support in a relaxed, family-friendly setting that prioritises the wellbeing of children. 

As a CCS Contact Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children to re-establish or maintain safe and meaningful relationships with both parents and/or other significant people in their lives. You will facilitate supervised contact visits and changeover arrangements in a child-focused, neutral, and welcoming environment. 

About you:

You are driven by a genuine passion for supporting families and children, and you believe in the power of connection to foster meaningful relationships. You bring warmth, empathy, and resilience to your work, and you are confident navigating sensitive conversations with care and respect.

You have experience working with culturally diverse clients and understand culturally responsive practice. You are child-focused and skilled in supporting parents who may be experiencing conflict, vulnerability or challenging family dynamics. Your approach will help create safe pathways that promote children’s wellbeing and strengthen family relationships.

Key Duties will include: 

• Supervising children’s contact, and facilitating changeover of children between parents whilst maintaining focus on the safety and well-being of the child
• Supporting and providing encouragement to families to engage in positive family connection and experiences
• Modelling positive parenting behaviours
• Completing well documented, neutral and factual case notes of family connections within a set time frame
• Facilitating the promotion of Interrelate's services within the community
• Being well-informed about other relevant and appropriate community services in the area to facilitate effective referrals
• Adhering to appropriate work practices to protect the confidentiality of clients
• Confidently navigating Microsoft Office applications and CRM databases
• Participating in program and service evaluations as required

This is a Casual position and will provide centre-based services in Fairfield, additional shifts may also be available at our Caringbah CCS centre from time to time.

Our Children's Contact Service is operational from 9am to 8pm (Mon-Fri), and 9am to 6pm on Saturdays. Candidates are required to have the flexibility to attend shifts across weekdays, early evenings and Saturdays.

Please note that some rostered shifts may only be scheduled for a maximum duration of 3 hours. The number and frequency of available shifts is based on operational need and does vary.

Hourly rates (including casual loading & penalty rates): $56.10ph (Mon-Fri) and $78.54ph (Sat). 

Role Requirements:

• Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services. (A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or counselling will be highly regarded)
• Demonstrated experience working with families and children experiencing separation and family breakdown and high levels of family conflict
• Demonstrated experience working in one or more areas of clinical work, e.g. counselling, dispute resolution, relationship education, children’s services, men’s programs, family law
• Knowledge of child development, child protection, and family violence issues
• Demonstrated skills in managing high parental conflict whilst upholding the best interests of children
• Current First Aid Certificates as follows: Provide CPR (HLTAID009), Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTAID010), Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012), or willingness to attain them within the first three months of employment
