The Indigenous Desert Alliance (IDA) is an Aboriginal-led organisation that supports Indigenous ranger groups and communities across Australia's desert regions. Working with our members and partners, we strengthen Indigenous land management, build capacity and advocate for healthy Country and strong communities.

We're looking for an organised, proactive and enthusiastic Engagement Administration Officer to join our Engagement Team.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll provide high level administrative support across stakeholder engagement, communications, events, fundraising and projects, helping our team deliver meaningful outcomes for members and partners across remote Australia.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief of Engagement, you will:

  • Provide high-quality administrative support to the Engagement Team.
  • Coordinate workshops, conferences, meetings and stakeholder events.
  • Assist with travel, accommodation and event logistics.
  • Maintain stakeholder, member and donor information within our CRM.
  • Support communications, newsletters and stakeholder correspondence.
  • Assist with research, grant applications, funding submissions and reporting.
  • Coordinate project documentation, action registers and meeting minutes.
  • Help improve administrative systems and processes across the team.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • A confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Experienced in administration, coordination or project support.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive, adaptable and enjoys working in a collaborative team.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems, including CRM platforms.
  • Interested in supporting Aboriginal-led organisations and making a positive impact across remote Australia.

Experience in communications, event coordination, grant administration or the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.
