Position Overview

This position is funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing through multiple projects. Therefore this position will work on multiple projects and will help with community development, client management and community outreach work.

This position will deliver several projects in the organisation.

Responsibilities and accountabilities

• Outreach and support service
• Advocacy and assistance to access a broad range of services
• Providing support to families who may be in crisis or presenting with more complex needs
• Effectively manage client work, advocacy and community engagement across different community settings.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with external agencies and strategic partners
• Work effectively and collaboratively within the broader IndianCare Team.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and skills

• Tertiary qualifications in social science, gender studies, community development or another area of relevance
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with vulnerable and high-risk families
• Ability to form strong collaborative working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including community and government agencies
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team
• Value time and have good time management skills
