Who we are

Established in 1988, Incolink is a joint enterprise of employer associations and industry unions in the commercial building, construction and civil allied industries in Victoria and Tasmania.

The role

Based in Carlton and reporting to the EGM Services, we are looking for an experienced employment and training advisor who is passionate about supporting workers in the commercial building and construction industry.

The employment and training advisor provides a range of employment support activities to Incolink members who are seeking jobs within the construction industry. Focus will also be on innovation and developing digital service delivery.

You will enjoy and thrive on working autonomously as the Incolink's Employment & Training Advisor.

Key responsibilities and functions are:

• develop and maintain industry knowledge of current and future employment requirements and pathways
• build sustainable and trusted relationships with unions, employers and other industry stakeholders
• use your extensive knowledge of industry training courses, systems and providers to connect with workers needs
• understand the unique support and services provided by Incolink to its members
• use a proactive case management approach to assist injured or workers needing retraining to enjoy a long-term career

Knowledge, skill and experience requirements

Essential

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Extensive job and training experience gained within the building and construction industry
• Able to empathise with members' needs whilst understanding how to build capability
• Comfortable in presenting course/ information to industry forums and meetings
• Discretion and capacity to respect confidentiality of sensitive information

Desirable

• Knowledge of construction industry employment trends, building activities, job classifications and on-site training requirements
• Knowledge of industry training courses, systems and training providers that relate to the building industry
• Experience in delivering services using a digital platform
