Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) is Australia's first dedicated paediatric research institute and one of the world's leading independent medical research organisations. CMRI's work spans cancer, genomics, neurobiology and embryology, with world-leading programs such as ProCan transforming how cancer is diagnosed and treated globally.
CMRI's life-changing research is powered not only by scientific excellence, but by a highly engaged community of supporters, donors and partners. Flagship fundraising programs such as Jeans for Genes and Great Cycle Challenge have generated millions in vital funding and continue to play an important role in advancing research that changes the lives of children and families around the world.
Behind every scientific breakthrough is an exceptional and diverse workforce of researchers, clinicians and professional staff. As CMRI continues to strengthen its People function, this is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team and help attract, support and develop the talented people whose work is shaping the future of children's health.
Reporting to the Head of People, the Talent & People Business Partner is a pivotal role that combines strategic talent acquisition with hands-on people partnering. You will lead end-to-end recruitment and be responsible for the operational delivery of the People function, partnering closely with leaders to deliver an exceptional employee and candidate experience across the entire employment lifecycle.
This is far more than a traditional HR Business Partner role. Working within a highly regarded medical research institute, you'll support a diverse workforce of researchers, clinicians and professional staff, managing the unique complexities of grant-funded employment, international recruitment, visa sponsorships and workforce planning.
You'll become a trusted advisor to leaders, helping them navigate people challenges while supporting the delivery of high-quality, consistent and compliant services
With responsibility spanning both talent acquisition and operational HR, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to how CMRI attracts, engages and supports exceptional people, while contributing to key initiatives including leadership development, onboarding, employee engagement and future HR systems transformation.
You are an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the business and thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment where no two days are the same.
You genuinely enjoy talent acquisition and understand the impact a great recruitment experience can have on an organisation's success. At the same time, you're confident partnering with leaders on people matters, building trusted relationships and providing practical, solutions-focused advice.
Upload your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your suitability and interest in the position.
