Impact you will have in this role

As Supporter Relationships Manager, you will play a critical role in growing the philanthropic support that powers Breast Cancer Trials' world-leading research. Through strategic leadership of the bequest and mid-value fundraising program, you will strengthen long-term supporter relationships, inspire extraordinary generosity and help build a sustainable funding pipeline that enables research to continue changing lives.

You'll combine strategic leadership with genuine relationship building, working closely with supporters who are choosing to make a significant contribution towards breast cancer research through mid- value giving or a gift in Will. By nurturing trusted relationships and inspiring long-term philanthropy, you'll help secure the funding that drives life-changing research, accelerates new treatments and improves outcomes for people affected by breast cancer.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and grow Breast Cancer Trials' bequest fundraising program, driving long-term, along with mid value and bequest supporter engagement and sustainable income.
  • Build and personally manage relationships with bequest supporters through thoughtful, personalised stewardship, and identify moves management processes with donors across the mid value and philanthropic portfolios
  • Oversee the end-to-end bequest program, including estate administration and relationships with solicitors and trustees.
  • Develop and implement relationship strategies that deepen donor connections and maximise lifetime value across the supporter pipeline.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing and supporter-focused culture through effective leadership, coaching and support of team members.
  • Secure matched funding opportunities and engage key supporters in major fundraising campaigns and priority appeals.
  • Identify, cultivate and progress supporters into Major Gifts, partnering with the Head of Fundraising, CEO and broader organisation to further develop these relationships.
  • Use supporter insights, CRM data and fundraising trends to evaluate performance, identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure high-quality supporter records and relationship activity is maintained to support long-term stewardship and engagement strategies.
  • Develop compelling donor communications and engagement initiatives that strengthen relationships, increase retention and inspire long-term support.

Skills and experience

We're looking for an authentic relationship builder who loves working closely with donors, understands what inspires generosity and is passionate about nurturing meaningful, long-term relationships.
You will bring:

  • Demonstrated success leading relationship-based fundraising programs, with expertise in bequest fundraising is essential
  • Outstanding relationship management capabilities, with the confidence to engage, influence and steward donors at all giving levels, and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience evaluating the donor journey and moves management process across, working closely with donors across the bequests and mid value portfolios
  • Experience developing team members and fostering a collaborative, supporter-first culture.
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills, with the ability to craft compelling cases for support and build meaningful, long-term partnerships.
  • Highly analytical, with proven experience using CRM systems, data insights and performance reporting to develop strategy, evaluate performance, optimise outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge of fundraising best practice, including donor stewardship, bequest fundraising and supporter engagement, with a strong commitment to integrity and ethical decision-making.
  • A strong alignment with Breast Cancer Trials' mission, vision and values, together with a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference through life-saving breast cancer research.
