Join a leading humanitarian organisation driving the growth of the Australian and New Zealand mid-value philanthropy program.
Australia for UNHCR and Aotearoa New Zealand for UNHCR are the UN Refugee Agency’s national partners in Australia and New Zealand, raising awareness and funds to support UNHCR’s global emergency response to humanitarian crises.
Since 2000, Australia for UNHCR has raised more than $500 million from individual donors, philanthropists and corporates to support some of the world’s most vulnerable people. Together with Aotearoa New Zealand for UNHCR, the organisation helps deliver emergency shelter, water, cash assistance, healthcare, education, and livelihood programs for displaced communities around the globe.
By mid-2025, there were an estimated 117 million forcibly displaced people worldwide. UNHCR provides protection and support to refugees, asylum seekers, and displaced communities globally.
At a time when the number of international emergencies continues to rise, Australia for UNHCR plays a critical role in mobilising support and funding to ensure refugees and displaced people receive urgent humanitarian assistance and opportunities to rebuild their lives with dignity.
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships, the Philanthropy Manager (Mid-Value) will lead the strategy, growth and management of Australia for UNHCR's mid-value donor portfolio, one of the highest-performing mid-value giving programs in the sector, nurturing supporters who contribute between $1,000 and $10,000 annually.
This role is responsible for developing data-led and relationship-focused engagement strategies that strengthen donor retention, drive acquisition, increase supporter value, and create clear pathways into major giving and Gifts in Wills. Working collaboratively across Individual Giving, Philanthropy & Partnerships and Fundraising and Business Intelligence, you will deliver personalised donor experiences, lead campaign activity, identify growth opportunities and contribute to the organisation's long-term fundraising sustainability.
You will manage one direct report while driving continuous improvement across donor engagement, stewardship and campaign performance.
This is an ambitious, high-performing program, and we are looking for an innovative fundraiser who is excited by a culture of testing, learning and continuous improvement.
