Endometriosis Australia (EA) is the national peak body committed to improving the lives of people living with endometriosis through awareness, education, research, advocacy, and patient empowerment. Over the past decade, EA has significantly increased public understanding of the condition, influenced healthcare policy, and supported research that has reduced the average diagnosis time from 7–12 years to 6.5 years.
EA is recognised nationally for landmark initiatives, including:
- Australia’s first evidence-based, government-supported Endometriosis Friendly Workplace Accreditation program

The General Manager will build on this impact, ensuring sustainable growth, advancing strategic priorities, and driving systemic change in how people experience endometriosis.
Your Impact
Reporting to the board, this senior leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of endometriosis awareness and research in Australia. You will lead a high-performing small team and work closely with the Board, Clinical Advisory Committee, Ambassadors, EndoChampions, volunteers, and external stakeholders.
You will:
- Provide strategic oversight of organisational risk, ensuring alignment with Endometriosis Australia’s risk appetite and governance frameworks
- Ensure financial sustainability and growth through fundraising, philanthropy, partnerships, and government grants
- Oversee program delivery across research funding, awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, scholarships, and advocacy
- Lead organisational strategy, financial, operational management, and change management in alignment with EA’s 2025 Strategic Plan
- Representing EA as the national peak body voice on endometriosis in healthcare, government, and community sectors
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Organisational Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small high-performing team
- Drive operational excellence, process improvement, and change management
- Implement governance frameworks and delegate effectively to ensure organisational efficiency
Financial Management & Sustainability
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategy
- Secure sustainable revenue streams through philanthropy, partnerships, and government grants
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain organisational cash reserves
Program Delivery & Impact
- Oversee delivery of government grant programs, research grants, scholarships, and awareness initiatives
- Launch, evaluate, and report on programs such as Endo Thrive and nurse scholarship initiatives
- Ensure programs are evidence-based, outcome-driven, and deliver measurable impact
Board Management & Governance
- Prepare accurate and timely board papers and reports
- Support board and committee governance, succession planning, and onboarding of new directors
- Ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory obligations
Awareness, Marketing & Advocacy
- Execute national awareness campaigns with measurable impact
- Oversee integrated marketing and communications strategies across multiple channels
- Promote EA’s brand, profile, and influence within the sector
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
- Build strategic partnerships with government, healthcare, research, and community organisations
- Develop and maintain ambassador and volunteer programs
- Represent EA as the national peak body in endometriosis advocacy and healthcare conversations
Skills and Experience
- Leadership & Strategy: Proven senior leadership experience, including managing diverse teams and delivering organisational strategy
- Financial & Risk Management: Strong financial management, risk management, and operational oversight skills
- Advocacy & Engagement: Demonstrated ability in stakeholder engagement, communications, and advocacy
- Fundraising & Partnerships: Track record in fundraising and resource mobilisation
- Experience in health-related or advocacy organisations highly desirable
- Solutions-focused, adaptable leader with experience managing change
- Availability for interstate travel to engage with stakeholders, attend conferences, and advance advocacy initiatives
- Passion for women’s health and understanding of systemic gender bias in research and medicine
- Commitment to EA's vision and purpose
