Impact you will have in this role

The Digital Marketing Specialist will lead the development and execution of the NORTH Foundation’s digital-first communications strategy, drive brand awareness and positioning the organisation as a charity of choice within the community. This role has a strong focus on digital channel performance, including paid media, email marketing and SEO/SEM, alongside the ongoing optimisation and management of the Foundation’s website to enhance user experience, engagement, and conversion.

Leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud, the role will deliver personalised, data-driven supporter journeys and campaigns across key fundraising portfolios, including community and corporate initiatives, major gifts, grants and foundations, bequests, and appeals. The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for delivering integrated, multichannel campaigns that strengthen engagement, improve digital performance, and maximise fundraising outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a digital-first strategy to drive fundraising outcomes, increase brand visibility, and enhance supporter engagement through data-led insights and continuous optimisation.
  • Lead the delivery of integrated, multichannel campaigns across email, paid media (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn), and digital platforms, including key appeals such as Tax and Christmas.
  • Manage and optimise Salesforce Marketing Cloud to deliver personalised, automated supporter journeys and ensure seamless campaign execution and data integration.
  • Create and deliver engaging email marketing and newsletter content, monitoring performance to improve engagement, retention, and conversion.
  • Oversee the NORTH Foundation’s website, ensuring content is current, user-focused, and optimised for SEO, accessibility, and conversion.
  • Utilise analytics and performance data to inform decision-making, optimise campaigns, and demonstrate impact.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment, effective use of digital tools, and continuous improvement across all digital marketing activities.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, digital or similar.
  • Previous experience in digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and optimising digital channels, including email marketing (Salesforce Marketing Cloud), CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress), SEO/SEM, Google Ads, and Google Analytics.
  • Strong understanding of supporter journeys and content personalisation across channels.
  • Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills tailored for digital audiences.
  • Skills in basic design or video editing tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), alongside knowledge of accessibility and privacy standards.
  • Experience in A/B testing, segmentation, campaign reporting, and an understanding of fundraising strategy and the donor lifecycle.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and quickly learn new technologies.
  • A positive, “can do” attitude.
  • A genuine alignment to the NORTH Foundation’s purpose, and a commitment to teamwork, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.
  • Previous experience in non-profit, healthcare or research is highly regarded.
