IFYS is growing and currently have a rare opportunity for a Practice Advisor to manage all aspects of service practice within the IFYS Residential Care programs across Queensland. The Practice Advisor role is responsible for developing and coordinating positive behaviour support responses and plans for Children and Young People in Out of Home Care

We are looking for someone with ambition, drive and a dedication to delivering high service standards. This person will have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Child Protection sector, with a passion for developing staff skill sets.

Key responsibilities of this role:

  • Liaise and partner with all IFYS Child Protection Out of Home Care services to provide evidenced-based strategies and training to assist Children and Young People that require positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Design and implement systems to monitor and review the application of the strategies.
  • Attend service stakeholder meetings for example: Placement Matching, Placement Agreement meetings, Case Plan meetings and periodic departmental stakeholder meetings.
  • Coordinate and monitor outcomes measures implementation and monitoring in IFYS Out of Home Care Services.
  • Review Critical Incident Reports and provide constructive feedback to services.
  • Coordinate, implement and monitor the Hope and Healing Framework.
  • Assist in the research, implementation and monitoring of an overarching model of practice for Out of Home Care.
  • Amalgamate departmental plans, outcomes measures and the Hope and Healing Framework into Action Behaviour Support Plans quarterly.
  • Develop and coordinate safety plans for Children and Young People.
  • Lead individual and reflective supervision sessions.
  • Develop and Deliver training packages.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Tertiary undergraduate degree or higher qualifications in Child Protection, Human Services, Social Work or Psychology.
  • A comprehensive and up to date understanding of child protection legislation and practices;
  • Proven time management experience and the ability to work independently;
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with all key stakeholders involved in out of home care
