We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinician (Max term Parental Leave Cover) to join our team, providing clinical support and supervision to the team and provide assessment and intervention to young people and families using a trauma-informed approach to enhance mental health and wellbeing outcomes.

This is a 12-month max term parental leave cover contract role from July 2026 – July 2027 based in Hawthorn.

What you will be doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and line management to the Team at headspace
  • Working within the Leadership team to manage rosters, oversee waitlists and demand management
  • Deliver individual, group and family support
  • Provide case management/care coordination to a small number of young people with complex and chronic risk

What you will bring

Key Selection Criteria

  • Postgraduate qualifications in psychology and current registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist or Mental Health Social Worker
  • Demonstrated experience working in youth mental health, alcohol and other drugs, community or similar health services (minimum five years’ experience)
  • Demonstrated high level of skill in clinical risk assessment and management, including assessing for risk of suicide, self-harm and other risk domains
  • Recognised qualifications/training and demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision
  • Registered with AHPRA as a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor, or ability to register within first six months of employment
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively and respectfully with people from a diverse range of social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, including LGBTIQA+, culturally and linguistically diverse, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

Compliance Requirements:

  • National Police Check, Working with Children Check
  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia and a valid Driver’s Licence
