The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Paediatric Registered Psychologist, Grade 2 to join our highly regarded Child and Family Services team at Access Health and Community. This role is ideal for a registered psychologist with experience in paediatric psychology, child development, developmental disability, behavioural support, early intervention and family-centred care.

You will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based psychology services to pre-school and school age children funded through NDIS, Community Health, HACC and early intervention programs. This position offers the opportunity to provide assessment, intervention, consultation and capacity-building services across clinic, community, outreach and telehealth settings while supporting children and families to achieve meaningful outcomes.

You’ll be part of a close-knit and supportive team including over 40 paediatric allied health professionals with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, best-practice services to pre-school and school-aged children and their families within the communities in the Eastern and Outer Eastern suburbs.

This is a permanent part time 0.6 EFT position which is based at our Doncaster site and reporting to the Manager, Child & Family Services.

About the Role

The Paediatric Psychologist is responsible for delivering high-quality assessment, intervention and consultation services to children and families across a range of developmental, behavioural, emotional and disability presentations.

Working within AccessHC's integrated Child and Family Services model and the social model of health, you will partner with families, educators, health professionals and community supports to deliver child-focused, strength-based and evidence-informed services.

Services are delivered through:

• Clinic-based individual and multidisciplinary sessions
• Telehealth consultations
• Outreach services
• Home visits
• Kindergartens and childcare services
• School and community settings
• Group therapy and parent education programs

You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary team to support children aged 0-12 years and their families to achieve their goals and participate meaningfully in everyday life.

What you will be doing

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based paediatric psychology assessments and interventions for children experiencing developmental, behavioural, emotional and learning challenges
• Support children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural concerns and disability-related needs
• Provide psychology services through clinic-based appointments, telehealth, outreach, community and education settings
• Develop and implement individualised therapy plans that support child development and wellbeing
• Facilitate group therapy programs, parent coaching and capacity-building initiatives
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary allied health team to achieve positive outcomes for children and families
• Complete psychological assessments, reports, goal-setting documentation and NDIS-related reporting
• Build strong partnerships with families, educators, healthcare providers and community stakeholders

What you will bring

Key Selection Criteria

• Tertiary qualification in psychology
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a paediatric psychology setting
• Demonstrate knowledge of typical and atypical childhood development in order to understand the child’s developmental delay or disability
• Demonstrate skills in psychology assessment and intervention, based on current evidenced-based practice to ensure positive outcomes for the child and family
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Experience in planning and delivering group therapy programs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications

Compliance Requirements:

• Professional registration - AHPRA
• National Police Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Evidence of the right to work in Australia and a valid Driver’s Licence
