The organisation

Blacktown Meals on Wheels is a dedicated aged care provider supporting older members of the community to live independently and with dignity. BMOW is more than just a meal delivery service, it provides vital social connections so that clients feel supported and valued through every stage of their journey. BMOW delivers over 6,000 meals each month to around 600 clients living in the Blacktown LGA and host 160 clients at their social lunches each month.

About the role

As the first point of contact for new clients and their supporters, you will play a pivotal role in shaping their experience with BMOW. You will manage the end-to-end client life cycle, navigate My Aged Care (MAC) referral processes and maintain the CRM database. You will support the Client Engagement Officer to facilitate the popular ‘social day lunches’ each Monday and organise the schedule for a first-meal delivery visit to welcome new clients. Record-keeping is important and you’ll maintain meticulous digital client records as well as assist the Manager with reporting. This role is an in-office role with hours 7.30am to 3.45pm (subject to discussion).

About you

You are an experienced, empathetic, and organized community services professional who thrives on delivering great outcomes for clients.

What you will bring to this role:

  • Demonstrated experience working with community, volunteer or charity organisations (relevant qualifications highly regarded)
  • A warm, empathetic communication style with the ability to understand client vulnerabilities
  • A methodical, highly organized approach to workload and a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Excellent computer skills, use of client management systems and Microsoft 365
  • A supportive supervisory style and a collaborative team attitude.

Experience in aged care would be advantageous with knowledge of Support at Home and the Commonwealth Home Support Program.

You will need a current driver’s licence and have or be willing to obtain a police check.
