About the Role

The Online Community Moderator will monitor Daybreak’s peer support community to ensure that the community remains a safe and supported space for its members. The Daybreak Community Moderator is also responsible for guiding member behaviour in the community to be supportive of Daybreak’s Community Guidelines.

This role would be suitable for an individual who is looking to gain experience working in the mental health sector or someone with prior experience as an online community moderator.

Specific expectations of the role include:

• Monitor discussions in the peer community for clinical and organisational risk and escalate to the clinical team where appropriate
• Monitor discussions in the peer community for possible breach of community guidelines
• Respond to member-generated reports regarding incidents in the peer community
• Correspond with members who require service referrals or support
• Liaise with Daybreak’s Health Coaches
• Liaise with Daybreak’s tech team to assist with the resolution of member registration, password reset, username change, and any other issues that may arise

About You

• Currently undertaking or have completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, nursing or related discipline or prior experience in a similar role
• Effective at planning, organising and time management
• Excellent written English communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Self-motivated
• Must work well independently as well as in a team
• Be tech savvy and confident multi-tasking across multiple windows and programs
• Enthusiasm for the work that the organisation does
• Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards vulnerable populations
• Learning agility i.e. can learn and implement new processes quickly
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Ability to communicate effectively in a crisis

In this role you will be offered a pro-rata salary of $50K - 55K + super (dependent on experience), with additional benefits including NFP salary sacrificing and an annual pro-rata training budget of $1,600 for professional development activities. You will be Sydney-based and able to work consistent part-time hours.
