We now have both part-time and casual positions available for co-ordinating and providing support and activities for an individual or a group of adults with a disability. 

About this role:

Our Community Supports service offer a range of day programs and activities at Alkira’s Box Hill and Nunawading facilities, and in the community. 

We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Disability Support Workers to join our community support team. In this role, you will support individuals with intellectual disabilities help enrich their lives by assisting them to achieve their goals and build independence through a range of programs and activities.

About you:

• Genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of people with disabilities
• Previous experience in the disability sector
• Experience supporting people with behaviours of concern (BOC) would be advantageous

We require all applicants to hold: 

• Cert IV in Disability (Cert III will be considered)
• A current First Aid level 2 and CPR Certificate 
• Full current Victorian Drivers Licence 
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to get one) 
• Valid Working with Children Check  
• Provide an International Police check if necessary  
• Evidence of your right to work in Australia
