The Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation (ALPA) has been in operation since 1972. Our Remote Jobs and Economic Development Team (RJED)- formerly CDP Team, has been in operation for approximately 10 years, in that time it has truly had a significant impact in all communities in which these services are delivered.

As the head of the RJED team, the Remote Employment Manager reports to the GM Community Services and has genuine expertise successfully delivering a substantial number of government funded employment and economic initiatives across multiple remote First Nation's communities throughout the Northern Territory.

With high level communication and interpersonal skills, the Remote Employment Manager is fully conversant with all aspects of advocacy, effective networking, relationship management and stakeholder engagement.

About the role:

  • Ensure that all program guidelines, funding agreement outcomes and acquittals are met by leading the Operational and Reporting Managers in service delivery.
  • Undertake systemic advocacy and reform in the consideration of policy, strategy, budgets, resources and outcomes. Drive and develop the team at all levels to embrace the principles of community consultation, strong governance and high-quality data collection.
  • Develop and oversee financial budgets for the ten sites and ensure that the programs deliver on its financial goals.

About you:

  • Exceptional financial management skills with the ability to undertake feasibility studies on projects and programs.
  • Proven experience managing government grants upwards of $10 million with multiple budgets.
  • Commercially savvy with the ability to colligatively and collaboratively manage a team of 7 passionate direct reports with a desire to coach and develop.
  • Proven people and performance management experience in an environment that attracts idealism and compassion but is funded against measurable outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to network effectively engaging with stakeholders at diverse levels.
