The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre develops and delivers programs and services in response to community need. Presently, the Centre manages 30 funded programs that encompass aspects of aged care, family services, diversity and social isolation.

About You

Do you have a passion for providing professional and quality service to our vulnerable community? Are you knowledgeable in marketing, IT, computers and administrative work? Then this job may be for you.

You will be required to provide effective intake and support to the centre at front reception through professional delivery of information, advice and referral.

About the Role

An exciting new position working across a range of administrative tasks and providing valuable client support to the programs of the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre. This position is tasked with creating a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the reception area of the centre.

Essential Skills

  • Proven knowledge and ability to work with vulnerable community members
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, meet set deadlines and an attention to detail
  • Superior human relations and organisational skills
  • Excellent Computer and IT skills
  • Marketing and Social Media experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and excels at operating in a fast paced, community environment
  • A strong commitment to social justice principles
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain
  • Current C class driver’s licence or the ability to gain a driver’s licence within an agreed timeframe.

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualification in human services or business with three years of work experience and/or
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, ITC or equivalent with three years of work experience
  • Experience working in a community environment and understand referral pathways in the community

Position Details

This position is part-time, working 30 hours per week from 8.30am to 3.00pm and paid at SACS Award Level 3.
