The focus of the Health and Wellbeing Services (HWS) team is to facilitate a space where all people can reach their fullest potential physically, psychologically, socially, spiritually and economically, and reach their role expectations in their family, community, place of worship, workplace and other settings. With this concept in mind, the HWS team consists of a range of qualified and registered practitioners who collectively provide two key functions. Firstly, the team provides high quality health and wellbeing services to promote the optimal state of individual, organisational and community health and wellbeing. Secondly, our range of internship programs bridge the gap between university studies and becoming a practitioner. These programs support the learning and development of students and practitioners with an emphasis on excellence and innovation in health and wellbeing service provision. A key focus of HWS is on the growth and expansion of services to provide greater opportunity for vulnerable people and practitioners so they can live their best life.

The Role:

In this role you will contribute to the incredible workplace culture within HELP and the HWS team, where we work together to ensure practitioners can thrive and grow their skills. You will provide exceptional quality evidence-based clinical interventions, ensuring the customer in at the heart of everything you do.

We are seeking applications from health practitioners working across a range of disciplines (including Psychologists, Rehabilitation Counsellors, Social Workers and Mental Health Occupational Therapists), to provide high quality services to customers.

We are seeking to employ practitioners in various sites across South East Brisbane

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing evidence-based clinical interventions to diverse cohorts – including people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds – and their community
  • Conducting strengths-based specialist vocational assessment (e.g. Occupational Search Inventory and Workplace Aspect Preference Scale)
  • Maintain record keeping practices in line with ethical, legislative and organisational expectations
  • Develop and foster strong collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders  
  • Provide case reviews to triage clients and discuss client progress with stakeholders
  • Actively contribute to and participate in internal quality improvement and clinical support practices  
  • Maintain professional registration and adhere to ethical, legislative and organisational requirements
  • Support the growth of our Health and Wellbeing Services team through contributing expertise to special projects (where negotiated)

The successful applicant, you will have:

  • Current registration/accreditation with professions governing body (e.g. AHPRA, RCAA, or AASW)  
  • Minimum 12 months clinical experience as a registered/accredited health practitioner working with people from vulnerable cohorts including people with disability
  • Experience with implementing motivational interviewing and relapse prevention strategies including return to work strategies
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with key stakeholders to the benefit of the client
  • Strong values alignment with a passion to support vulnerable people to make positive change
  • Skilled in the use of computers/clinical software  
  • Excellent organisation skills with a flexible approach to work  
  • Current unrestricted drivers licence  
  • Willingness to work across multiple locations with the region
