Great organisations don't run smoothly by accident.
They run because someone brings clarity to complexity, keeps important work moving, builds trusted relationships and ensures the right things happen at the right time.
If you're someone who enjoys improving systems, bringing order to competing priorities and enabling others to do their best work, we'd love to hear from you.
Health Justice Australia is looking for an Operations & Governance Coordinator (or Lead) to help keep our national organisation operating smoothly while supporting work that improves health and justice outcomes for people across Australia.
We're open to appointing at either Coordinator or Lead level, depending on the experience, capability and value the successful candidate brings to the role.
This is more than an operations role.
It's an opportunity to become the organisational hub of a national organisation working to strengthen how health, legal, community and social service systems respond to complex and intersecting need.
Working closely with leadership you'll help coordinate governance, strengthen organisational systems, manage key operational relationships and continually improve the way we work.
You'll be trusted to identify opportunities, solve problems, improve processes and ensure the organisation has the foundations it needs to deliver lasting impact.
For someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and making a genuine contribution, this is a role where your work will be seen, valued and make a difference every day.
In your first six months you might:
More specifically you will be responsible for:
You may currently work in operations, governance, executive support, project coordination, business administration, office management, professional services, government, legal, health or the not-for-profit sector.
You enjoy bringing structure to complexity, take pride in delivering high-quality work and are known as someone people can rely on.
Essential for the role:
It would be great if you also had experience with Board governance, grants administration, Salesforce, SharePoint, Monday.com or similar organisational systems.
Health Justice Australia is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ communities and people with lived experience relevant to our work.
We know that great candidates don't always meet every criterion.
If you're excited by this opportunity, believe you have transferable skills and think you could make a meaningful contribution to Health Justice Australia, we'd encourage you to apply.
Health Justice Australia is a national charity, field catalyst and systems intermediary working to strengthen how health, legal, community and social service systems respond to complex and intersecting need.

Everything we do is guided by curiosity, courage, integrity and respect, and we're committed to creating an inclusive workplace where people feel supported, valued and able to contribute meaningfully.
At Health Justice Australia, you'll join a small, collaborative and values-led team working to strengthen systems that improve health and justice outcomes across Australia.
