Situated three and a half hours drive north of Queensland's capital, Brisbane, Hervey Bay is a natural bay between the mainland and World Heritage-listed Fraser Island. Renowned for its visiting humpback whales, and the close and intimate Whale Watching experiences that the local fleet can offer, Hervey Bay is a popular playground for tourists all year round because of its mild climate.

Hervey Bay's golden beaches stretch for approximately 14 kilometres along the Bay's foreshore offering families a safe haven to swim or to just enjoy the sand. Directly opposite the esplanade, all beaches are close to services and facilities. Sheltered by Fraser Island, the beach side town of Hervey Bay is a friendly and relaxing place to visit!

This practice is a vibrant private practice, with offices in both Fraser and Sunshine Coast locations. They are passionate about improving communication, health and well being for both children and adults. The multi-disciplinary health care centre provides clients with speech and occupational therapy services all in the one convenient location.

This full time role will see you providing your expertise and services in the clinic and throughout the community. This caseload is extremely varied (and stimulating) and includes a range of referrals for children and adults with neurological, sensory and physical impairments.

What you need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Therapy
  • Current registration with SPA
  • Current driver's licence and have access to own transport
  • Ability to self-motivate and self-manage, and a strong team ethic
  • Demonstrates knowledge of learning difficulties, sensory processing difficulties, and motor skills difficulties, and child development
  • Compile and provide comprehensive reports and or intervention plans and programs
  • High level of commitment to customer service
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, and proficient computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Enjoyment in delivering goal-oriented and exciting therapy services to clients in a clinic, school and home setting
  • Experience in Paediatric Speech Therapy is highly desirable but not essential
