THE ORGANISATION

As Australia’s peak national organisation for the community HIV and LGBTIQA+ health response, Health Equity Matters supports member organisations working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities, people living with HIV, sex workers, people who use drugs, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Through advocacy, policy, and health promotion it leads Australia’s effort to end HIV transmission and promote the health of its communities.

In the Asia Pacific region, Health Equity Matters uses the same strengths to promote effective policy, strengthen local community leadership, and support communities in their work in HIV, health, and human rights.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

To support Health Equity Matters’ workforce development team, HIV Online Learning Australia (HOLA), to develop and deliver a high-quality online learning program that contributes to the capacity of the workforce across HIV community-controlled organisations in Australia. This position involves managing the administration and logistics for the program and supporting the implementation the program’s wide range of online learning activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Manager, HOLA, and working collaboratively with other staff on the HOLA Team (including two Instructional Designers), the Learning Coordinator will be responsible for:

• Maintaining systems to support enrolment and management of participants in learning programs.
• Identifying and implementing improvements to systems for better efficiency and a more positive learner experience.
• Providing administrative support for the development, design and delivery of online learning packages, including eLearning modules, facilitated workshops, communities of practice groups and national workforce webinars, to support the high-quality experience of participants in learning programs.
• Engaging with, providing support to and liaising external stakeholders contributing to the design or delivery components of the online learning materials.
• Providing administrative support to users of the online learning platform.
• Communicating with HOLA’s participants, from enrolments through to post-learning activities, to support and maximise audience engagement.
• Scheduling and facilitating communities of practice meetings.
• Implementing parts of HOLA’s Monitoring and Evaluation Framework to track ongoing participant engagement and program completion and produce analytics reports.
• Coordinating all logistics related to in-person training and events, including travel, accommodation, catering and venue hire.
• Understanding, implementing, participating in, and promoting Health Equity Matters’ business processes, policies and procedures, and WHS objectives, processes and procedures.
• Performing other appropriate duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager, HOLA.

Selection Criteria

Essential

• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in planning and coordinating training and/or events.
• Experience in designing and implementing systems to track activity and impact.
• A proven track record of autonomously planning, implementing and completing complex projects with a strong attention to detail, including demonstrated capacity to manage concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• Negotiation skills to achieve results while maintaining important relationships and representing the organisation.
• Ability to work collaboratively to resolve complex issues, including with stakeholders who may have differing views and conflicting interests.
• Excellent judgement to manage and advise on sensitive issues that may involve reputational risk.

Desirable

• Knowledge of HIV and of the Australian HIV response.
• Experience in online training course administration, design and troubleshooting.
• Experience working or volunteering in community organisations in Australia or elsewhere.

Additional Requirements

The position is based in Sydney. It is not envisaged that the position will require regular travel.
