about the role

The TAFE Suicide Postvention Support Toolkit Project Coordinator is responsible for leading the planning, design and delivery of a Queensland Mental Health Commission funded initiative to develop, implement and evaluate a suicide postvention toolkit and training program with TAFE Queensland.

Working with TAFE Queensland, lived and living experience representatives, First Nations stakeholders and subject matter experts, the Project Coordinator will lead project planning, stakeholder engagement, co-design, resource development, training delivery and evaluation. The role will support practical, culturally responsive and evidence-informed resources that strengthen suicide postvention preparedness, response and recovery across the TAFE Queensland community.

In this role, you may engage with young people and families navigating complex mental health and wellbeing concerns, including distressing or sensitive situations. We are committed to supporting our staff through supervision and reflective practice and encourage applicants to consider how this work may impact them personally.

what you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications relevant to either mental health or education and training or a relevant field; or relevant experience.
• Experience facilitating workshops with First Nations communities, young people, families and professionals, ideally in tertiary education and in mental health or wellbeing settings.
• Understanding of social and mental health issues affecting young people and tertiary education communities.
• Experience developing training and resource packages across multiple formats, including online.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently, collaborate effectively and engage diverse stakeholders.
• A current driver's licence, access to a maintained vehicle, and willingness to travel across the state and interstate with overnight stays as required.
