School psychologist role working with primary and secondary students based in Eastern Suburbs.

Your new company

A rare opportunity has become available for an energetic and passionate psychologist to join an Independent School. The school caters for students from early years to year 12 and encourages them to be inquisitive, lifelong learners and respectful. The school's management team are also passionate about students realising their potential academically, socially and spiritually. If successful, you will be part of their Welfare Team in both Primary and High Schools.

Your new role

In your new role you will provide counselling support to students. Alongside the Welfare team, you will work to optimise the psychological, emotional and social wellbeing of students in a proactive and supportive manner. You will provide assessments and recommendations as well as initiating counselling for individuals and groups. You will liaise with outside agencies and professionals regarding onward referrals. The role will give you the opportunity to provide seminars, year-specific programmes and expert advice on mental health and wellbeing.

What you'll need to succeed

• You must have a Tertiary level qualification in Psychology and AHPRA registration
• Minimum 2 years' experience of counselling children and adolescent
• Ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative team and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong information and communication technology skills
