The Haymarket Foundation has supported people experiencing, or at risk of complex homelessness in Sydney for almost 45 years. We strive to advocate and deliver multidisciplinary services for our community that are inclusive, safe, and offer freedom of choice.

We are currently seeking motivated and adaptable individuals to join our team. As a Community Service Worker within our residential programs, you will provide support and stabilisation for people experiencing complex homelessness within a residential setting.  

Position Information:

Shifts are allocated on a casual and on-call basis. Our residential programs operate 24-hour, 3 shift roster (morning, afternoon & night shift), 7 days a week. The position reports to the Manager of Homelessness Services and Clinical Lead and will work closely with other residential services staff. The program is located in Chippendale and has a salary and conditions to per Grade 3 of the SCHCADS Award (including applicable loadings).

Key Selection Criteria:

Essential (E), Desirable (D)

  • A minimum qualification (Certificate 4) in community services or related field.  (E)
  • Experience working with clients presenting with multi-morbidities. (E)
  • A working knowledge of the issues faced by people who have experienced complex trauma and who currently identify as having substance dependencies. (E)
  • A working understanding of trauma-informed care and strengths-based practice. (E)
  • Valid driver’s licence. (D)
  • Experience working in residential settings. (D)
  • Disclosure of any restrictions that impact upon your role as a practitioner. (E)
  • National criminal record check. (E)
  • Demonstrated communication skills specifically in client and team rapport building. (E)
  • Proven ability to set clear professional boundaries. (E)
