About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Housing Support Outreach worker to join our Housing Support team providing outreach case-management support to older people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness.

You will have high levels of empathy for older people in stressful housing situations and a professional manner with service providers.

You will be assisting clients to find long-term affordable housing, linking them in with other services and assisting them to move where appropriate. The client group is made up of 50% culturally diverse older people, so experience in working with older, culturally diverse people, an understanding of cultural barriers, experience with using interpreters or speaking a community language, will be an advantage in this role.

Knowledge of the social housing sector, the aged care service system and the health and community services sectors is desirable. Experience in working within community member-based organisations will be an advantage.
