About Grow Early Supports

Grow Early Supports is a specialist early childhood intervention provider dedicated to supporting children aged 1-9 years with developmental delays, differences and disabilities, including Autistic children, and their families. We are a mobile service delivering therapy in the home, early education centre, school and the community - where children live, learn and grow - across Melbourne’s northern and western suburbs.

Our approach is child-centred, play- and routines-based and neurodiversity-affirming. We use evidence-based practices including the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), where we are recognised national and international leaders - and we have particular expertise supporting Autistic children with complex and high support needs.

We are committed to working in partnership with families, caregivers and educators to tailor supports that build each child’s wellbeing, communication, independence and confidence in their everyday lives.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Early Childhood Intervention Therapist (SLP, OT, B. Ed) to join our growing, transdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work directly with children, educators and families in community settings.

In this role you will:

  • Provide individualised, strengths-based early intervention supports with children in their homes and education settings
  • Coach and partner with parents, caregivers and educators to embed helpful strategies into their everyday routines
  • Develop and review learning goals in partnership with children’s families and educators
  • Collaborate with a supportive transdisciplinary team
  • Maintain clear, respectful and timely documentation and reporting
  • Contribute to our culture of continuous learning and reflective practice

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from qualified professionals across the following disciplines:

  • Speech Pathologists – eligible for Certified Practising Membership with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Occupational Therapists – current AHPRA registration
  • Early Childhood Teachers – Bachelor-qualified, VIT registered (or eligible)

New graduates are warmly encouraged to apply - we provide structured mentoring and supervision to set you up for success.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Experience working with Autistic and/or Neurodivergent children in any capacity - clinical, educational, support work, family, volunteer or lived experience
  • Sound understanding of early childhood development and the way young children learn, communicate and connect
  • Understanding of and / or interest in play-based and routines-based approaches to early intervention
  • Experience collaborating with families, educators and other therapists as part of a team around the child
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, families and educators
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and registration/membership for your discipline (as above)
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle

Desirable Experience and Skills

  • Experience developing meaningful goals to support and monitor children’s development
  • Experience in early childhood intervention or NDIS-funded services
  • Experience providing coaching and consultation supports in home or early childhood settings
  • Familiarity with the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) - or interest in training in it
  • Experience supporting children with complex and high support needs
