Communications & Marketing Lead - Melbourne / Work From Home

Groupwork Centre

The Opportunity

We're looking for a communicator, storyteller and relationship builder to help shape how the world sees Groupwork Centre. Your marketing and communications strategies will play a key role in growing our sales pipeline, strengthening client relationships, and creating new opportunities that enable us to expand our reach and impact, through revenue growth. Working closely with our Operations Team, CEO, Governance Group, and the team members who manage client relationships, you'll lead our communications and marketing, helping more people understand who we are, what we stand for, and the impact of our work.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll help guide our strategy, shape our voice and bring our story to life.

Working in partnership with our team, you'll:

  • Build on our strategy: develop and lead marketing and communications initiatives that align with our organisational goals and values.
  • Manage our digital presence: oversee our social media, website, email marketing and online campaigns, reflecting who we are and driving sales.
  • Create engaging content: produce newsletters, email marketing, website content, photography, graphics and stakeholder communications that bring our work to life.
  • Lead our voice: support media engagement and organisational storytelling and strengthen how we show up and connect with clients, partners and community.
  • Coordinate events: help plan and promote community and client facing events, working alongside our team and partners.
  • Build visibility: enhance the organisation's profile and support business development through thoughtful, values led communications.
  • Foster connection: translate our belief in genuine connection, collaborative leadership and emotional resilience into story, strategy and visibility.
  • Track and report: monitor how our communications are landing and share simple, useful updates with the team.
  • Work collaboratively: ensure alignment across the Governance Group, Directors, Operations Lead and client relationship team.

Why This Role Is Different

We're looking for the right person, not a rigid set of hours or a box ticking checklist.

This role is offered remotely, with occasional meetups in Melbourne, at approximately 16 hours per week. We work with a flat pay structure and a deep respect for each person's wisdom and skill, and we're genuinely open to tailoring the contract type, hours to suit the right person.

If you don't tick every box but you're feeling inspired by this role and by us, we'd still love to hear from you.

About You

You're someone who feels the work, not just someone who does marketing.

You understand the power of genuine connection and collaborative leadership, and you know how to turn that understanding into strategy, story, visibility and ultimately, business growth.

You'll likely bring:

  • Proven experience in developing and delivering strategic marketing, digital campaigns and communications initiatives
  • Strong content creation, social media and copywriting skills
  • Experience with website management, email marketing and digital campaigns
  • Experience with platforms like Vision6, Squarespace, CapCut and Canva is a plus
  • A collaborative, relational approach to working with teams, partners and community
  • Comfort working autonomously in a small, values driven organisation
  • Genuine excitement about conscious collaboration, facilitation and emotional resilience as ways of working
