ACQUISITION SPECIALIST (GIFTS IN WILLS)

Role: Full time, Permanent Position

Location: Sydney based, working hybrid out of our head office, Rainbow Warrior House (RWH) in Rosebery. 2 days per week onsite, 3 days working from home.

THE TEAM

The Acquisition Specialist (Gifts in Wills), sits within our High Value Fundraising team, working on our Gifts in Wills program. The High Value team works with existing and new supporters who can give significantly and help us grow our impact. As Greenpeace campaigns are 100% funded by individual supporters, it is vital that we grow our base of supporters and donors so that we can remain fiercely independent as we fight together for our fragile planet and the magnificent diversity of life that call it home.

Our team facilitates key streams of financial support to fund high-impact campaigns that provide a voice for this fragile planet. Greenpeace is and always will be independent which means that we never accept any money from any government, business or political party.

The Gifts in Wills program focuses on encouraging loyal supporters to leave a charitable gift in their will to Greenpeace. We do this by providing warm, informed and inspirational interactions with them. The program also focuses on acquiring new supporters and inspiring the public to learn more about this form of giving, through a diverse range of activities and channels.

THE ROLE

As the Acquisition Specialist (Gifts in Wills), you will drive the growth of Greenpeace’s legacy program. You will lead the end-to-end donor journey, identifying, engaging, and inspiring our passionate supporters to consider leaving a lasting legacy through a gift in their Will.

By delivering the right message to the right audience at the right time, you will manage a sophisticated mix of telefundraising, direct mail, digital campaigns, and events to convert donor intent into committed pledges, strengthening GPAP’s financial sustainability for generations to come.

Key responsibilities include:

• Oversee year-round multi-channel acquisition campaigns (digital, direct mail, telephone, and events). Act as the main operational point of contact for our external telefundraising partners and manage our Online Wills platform.
• Build and nurture meaningful relationships with prospective legacy donors via phone, email, and events. Move warm prospects gently through the pipeline from initial interest to confirmed pledges.
• Partner with the Middle Donor, High-Value Giving, Digital Growth, and Campaigns teams to integrate Gifts in Wills priorities into broader organisational strategies and discover new prospects.
• Collaborate with internal creative teams and agencies to develop inspiring digital and print content. Continuously test and optimize web content, landing pages, and lead-capture forms.
• Maintain data integrity within our CRM (Salesforce), tracking pipeline performance, managing data washes, and preparing reports to drive strategic decision-making.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of donor journeys, fundraising principles, and moving prospects through a pipeline. You will also have exceptional written skills for multi-channel donor communications and the ability to engage sensitively with diverse demographics.

You’ll ideally also have:

• At least 3 years of experience in fundraising acquisition, marketing, or working closely within a telefundraising/direct mail environment.
• Proven experience working with external suppliers, vendors, and managing multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in database maintenance, reporting, and pipeline analysis.
• A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Proficiency across digital tools (Google Workspace, Meta, Instagram, Canva, WordPress, SEO). Experience building and interpreting reports in a CRM (Salesforce preferred) is highly advantageous.
• High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to coordinate complex logistics (like donor events and direct mail drops) under pressure.

Annual full-time salary: $101,272.80 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
