Greater Sydney Landcare (GSL) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to connecting the people of Sydney with nature while supporting ecological conservation across the region. GSL provides land management services and hosts a comprehensive events program with volunteers, councils, government agencies, and corporate partners to restore and protect bushland and habitats.

GSL has recently established two new programs, Corporate Engagements and Environmental Services, to support its transition to a more sustainable, self-funded operating model. As part of this strategic shift, GSL is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth and build meaningful partnerships that support environmental outcomes.

About the role

This role is responsible for driving the growth of new revenue streams and securing values-aligned partnerships that directly support bush and habitat regeneration programs.

You will play a key role in identifying new opportunities, developing compelling value propositions, and managing high-value tenders, grants, and commercial proposals.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine commercial acumen with purpose-driven work that delivers measurable environmental impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new revenue opportunities across corporate, philanthropic, and government sectors
  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and partners
  • Develop compelling proposals, tenders, and grant applications to secure new funding and contracts
  • Drive growth across GSL’s Corporate Engagement and Environmental Services programs
  • Manage the end-to-end business development pipeline, from prospecting to contract execution
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align services with market demand and client needs
  • Track and report on business development performance, pipeline activity, and revenue outcomes

About you

The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial capability alongside a passion for environmental outcomes.

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, partnerships, or sales, ideally within environmental services, natural resource management, sustainability, or related sectors
  • A proven track record in developing and securing tenders, government grants, and commercial contracts
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across corporate, philanthropic, and government sectors
  • Experience developing compelling proposals and presenting value-driven solutions
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • A genuine interest in environmental conservation and community engagement

This role is full-time preferred, with flexibility to consider part-time or contract arrangements. Hybrid work with some office days. Currently located in Castle Hill, with relocation to a new office in Olympic Park scheduled for late July 2026.
