About the Role

As the Registered Nurse (internally known as - Wellbeing Coordinator Sisters WA), you will apply a healthy ageing and wellbeing approach to supporting the Sisters of Good Shepherd in Western Australia. You’ll provide individual support that helps women stay active, independent and engaged in their community. Built on trusting and caring relationships, the role goes beyond hands-on support and contributes to the longevity of the Good Shepherd sisters and their endeavours.

You will be part of a collaborative and supportive national team that works closely together to support a common collective. The role also provides on-call support on a three-week rotational basis (recall is infrequent).

Based around Leederville, you can expect regular travel throughout Perth and occasional interstate travel. Good Shepherd provides transport support through pool vehicles and/or kilometre allowances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support mature women to maintain independence and wellbeing through practical, evidence-based strategies
  • Monitor and report changes in health, safety or behaviour, and respond promptly to incidents or concerns
  • Respect individual backgrounds, beliefs and preferences while supporting informed choices in care
  • Provide personal care support as relevant to the individual
  • Assist with daily living activities, including shopping, emotional enrichment and medication preparation
  • Coordinate and support social outings, medical appointments, hospital visits and special events
  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet individual needs

About you

  • Qualifications in Registered Nursing (essential)
  • Experience working in the community sector, including engagement with community service providers, Home Care Package (HCP) and Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) providers, or other relevant services (desirable)
  • Ability to work flexibly, with no two days being the same
  • A consultative and person-centred approach to decision-making
  • Enjoy working within a collaborative and supportive team environment that values regular supervision and debriefing
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with older clients
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering high-quality care
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate
