Located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, Gateway LLEN encompasses the local government areas of Whitehorse, Manningham and Monash and works with key stakeholders within these communities.

Gateway Local Learning and Employment Network (LLEN) is one 31 Victorian LLENs. The goal of the LLENs is to improve outcomes for young people, 10 – 19 years old, by increasing opportunities for their participation, attainment and successful transitions in education, training or employment.

Please note this is a fixed-term contract until December 31st 2024, and is .6 – FT EFT negotiable.

Why our team needs you

Our Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) team are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team in supporting and increasing access to the SWL program. This role may suit an applicant with demonstrated experience or a recent graduate with a desire to build a career in education and/ or training.

This role will provide support to the SWL program by collaborating with local Industry, Schools and Community Stakeholders to better equip students with the knowledge of career pathways for employment by organising:

  • Work placements
  • Guest speakers and presenters from industry
  • Workplace visits and industry tours
  • Work readiness preparation

After hours work may be required on occasion, as well as an ability to adapt to change and think on your feet.

What you’ll bring to our team

  • Self-driven and enjoy working in a small team
  • Equipped with the skills and initiative to build and maintain strong ongoing relationships with local schools and industry to support students undertaking a Vocational Education and Training (VET) program
  • Passionate about connecting with schools and industry to create pathways for young people
  • Great communicator with an ability to work well with employers, teachers and students
  • Able to demonstrate a track record in meeting KPI’s
