We are seeking a casual Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our After-Hours Program! This role is a SCHADS Level 5 (pro rata, pay point dependent of experience, equivalent to $65.66 - $68.64 per hour). Penalties and casual loading apply for evening, weekend and public holiday shifts.
About the role
The Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (After Hours) is responsible for the delivery of specialist family violence services to victim survivors of family violence outside of business hours (evening and weekends). This includes outreach support to victim survivors of family violence in emergency accommodation and occasionally other settings as required.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting clients in emergency accommodation in relation to immediate needs including: undertaking risk assessments and safety planning, risk management, provision of material aid, and the provision of psychosocial/emotional support. Occasional services may be provided to victim survivors needing support outside of business hours in other settings.
- Liaison with Emergency Accommodation Providers outside of business hours to promote the safety and wellbeing of victim survivors and the ongoing relationship with key moteliers.
- In the course of after-hours support, attend to emotional, psychological and physical safety of children and young people
- Work collaboratively with the daytime refuge team, other GenWest Integrated Family Violence Services (IFVS) and external service providers to provide an integrated continuum of support to victim survivors
- Diligently document case notes and complete reports in accordance with best practice and GenWest standards
About you
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in social work or related discipline as per the Minimum Mandatory Qualifications
- Proven experience and knowledge of theoretical models and frameworks relevant to family violence and sexual assault
- Experience effectively managing competing priorities
- Proven experience in collaborating effectively within a team, cross-functional and with external agencies
- Strong ability to exercise initiative and judgement in complex situations
- Sound judgement to proficiently manage own workload in a timely manner
- Demonstrate high quality written and verbal communication skills
- Proven abilities to operate effectively within a complex and fast-paced environment
- Have proven ability to meet KPIs, and targets to achieve set outcomes for victim survivors
- Current and valid Driver’s licence (proof required) and ability to drive
- Working with Children’s check
- Police check (and international police check if lived overseas for a year or more in the last 10 years)
