About you

As our Research & Foundation Manager, you are a passionate and dynamic individual who wants to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of all Australians. You will have a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement, with exceptional organisational and leadership prowess. To thrive in this role you’ll have:

  • Experience in a general practice and/or primary healthcare environment
  • Experience in all aspects of fundraising
  • A strong understanding of grant making
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, including proven ability in developing and managing partnerships and stakeholders at a senior level
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, relationship management and negotiation skills with the demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse teams
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with proven experience in managing competing tasks to tight and inflexible deadlines.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Policy Officer, you’ll develop and deliver the RACGP general practice research strategy and the fundraising direction for the RACGP. Your exceptional stakeholder management skills will allow you to collaborate across the College where any related Foundation and research issues interface with other departments, units and faculties to assist the RACGP to achieve its mission to see general practice keep Australians healthy.

In addition, you’ll:

  • Lead the development of the RACGP Research Foundation’s proposition
  • Drive the development and delivery of the research and fundraising strategies and operations
  • Develop strategy to identify, cultivate and develop a high volume of and long term financially strong and mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders across the portfolio including high net worth individuals, bequests, philanthropy, partners and key research stakeholders
  • Review and establish a revised RACGP Research Foundation Board to facilitate stewardship and income generation and drive strategy in line with the RACGP Research Foundation and RACGP Strategic Plans
  • Ensure the successful delivery of the annual grant round from promotion and execution through to impact reports and support implementation into Clinical Practice, RACGP operations, and Advocacy and Policy
  • Support the development of a general practice research community and the promotion of general practice research and the RACGP Research Foundation
  • Ensure governance and compliance of RACGP’s Research Foundation, including ensuring regular financial reconciliations and financial reporting and liaise on RACGP Foundation investment portfolios
  • Develop and manage budgets for the Foundation and research units and associated projects, monitoring performance
  • Lead and develop a high performing team to deliver innovative customer solutions in response to business needs, maintaining a work environment that develops team members potential and inspires high performance.
