About us

Gamumbi Early Childhood Education Centre Inc. is a non-profit community based educational centre located in Toormina, managed by a dedicated committee of parents. We cater for 51 children per day and are open Monday to Friday from 7.30am until 5.30pm for 49 weeks each year.

The centre runs in strict accordance with Education and Care Services Regulation (2018) and the National Quality Framework.

Prospective teachers should have a customer focused attitude towards their role and be committed to offering the quality of care and best practice that is required by the Management Committee.

The position is for a full-time position commencing as soon as possible for a person who is passionate and motivated to join our dynamic team. This will begin with a contract with a view to permanency for the right candidate.

Key selection criteria

• Recognised Degree in Early Childhood Education see http://acecqa.gov.au/educators-and-providers1/qualifications
• NSW Working with Children Check
• Current (ACECQA) approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis qualification
• First aid certificate
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Highly organised
• Demonstrated ability to work within the principals and practice of EYLF
• Demonstrated excellent programming abilities for children aged 0 to 6 years
• The ability to work as an effective leader of a team of educators and families
• Demonstrated initiative and innovative thinking skills
• Excellent team building skills
• Awareness of and commitment to implementing an anti-bias curriculum, and the maintenance of inclusive principles and practice
• Understanding and knowledge of contemporary best practice in early childhood education and care
• Computer literacy
