The Future Group

About Future Group

Future Group is not your traditional financial services company – we're a collective of super funds and services committed to changing our planet now for a better tomorrow. When you join us, you’ll become part of a team united by a clear and important mission: to lead the investment movement by advocating and campaigning for a future worth retiring into.

We are looking for someone to join our purpose-led high-growth scaleup and to help us drive and embed project management practices across the business. We have a bold ambition to create a prosperous future free from climate change and inequality, and this role is critical to helping us execute on the programs of work needed to make this happen. As a Project Manager, you'll develop and implement project management strategies aligned with our organisational objectives, ensuring efficient and effective project execution. You'll be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of complex projects to meet goals and deadlines. Your north star: is to inspire innovation, collaboration, and excellence, ensuring each project aligns with our mission to create a future worth retiring into.

And the best bit, you’ll get to work with some fantastic work mates. Our team is a dynamic blend of passionate individuals committed to making a meaningful difference. Collaborative, supportive, and driven by a shared purpose, your teammates will inspire and challenge you to push the boundaries of what's possible. Together, we'll embark on a journey of growth and impact, forging a brighter tomorrow for generations to come.

We strongly encourage applications from people with diverse lived experience and identities, as the problems we face are complex, and the more diverse our team is, the better our solutions become. We are a team that is all about building a strong workplace culture, that's not only diverse, but competent. We are always learning and doing better together, and holding ourselves to account on our values.

Future Group values lived experience and we encourage applications from people with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, who have caring responsibilities, from culturally and racially marginalised groups, people with disability, people who experience ageism, LGBTQIA+ people, and people who experience social exclusion because of their social class.

If you require any adjustments throughout the recruitment process, please reach out to our talent team at [email protected]. We want to ensure our recruitment process is equitable for all, and we’ll happily make any reasonable adjustments where required.

You’ll love this job if:

  • You find superannuation opaque and frustrating, if you had the chance to revolutionise the industry to be better for people, you would
  • You love sharing your ideas and seeing what happens. At this scale-up, you're not just a small fish in a big pond. Your contributions have a direct influence on our impact and how we work

  • You enjoy working on complex projects across all areas of a business. Future Group is a fast-growing business operating in a constantly changing industry. We have multiple projects on the go at any given time, that could include re-setting our investment approach, transitioning key services to a new service provider, or transforming the way we work to deliver on our strategy.
  • You can take the 30,000 foot view to define key objectives and steer the direction of a project, but are also happy to jump in and get involved in the detail.

  • Believes in using the power of money to build a sustainable and equitable world

  • Is an excellent communicator with strong, multi-level stakeholder and relationship management expertise.
  • Is a curious and voracious learner. Future Group is a workplace that continually challenges the status quo, constantly striving to find new and better ways of working.

Some nice-to-haves but are not essential are:

  • Previous experience working on transformation or projects involving change management
  • Some level of investment knowledge, including how investment vehicles like MIS work
  • Experience in agile project management

As the Project Manager you will:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members across the business, ensuring efficient and effective execution of projects.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of complex projects, ensuring they meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Facilitate clear and transparent communication between project teams, stakeholders, and senior management, collaborating to identify project requirements, risks, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate regular project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders on project progress and potential issues.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal utilisation and alignment with project priorities, identifying and mitigating resource constraints and bottlenecks to minimise project delays.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses to ensure adherence to approved financial constraints.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise their impact on project outcomes, leading problem-solving efforts and decision-making processes to address project issues and challenges promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project performance and effectiveness, conducting regular project reviews and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the project management team, fostering innovation and learning.

Don’t tick all the boxes?- that’s okay, we like thinking outside the box anyway. We value skills, passion and who you are over what you’ve done or where you’ve studied. So if this job strikes a chord, we want to hear from you!
