As a grass roots organisation with close to 460 staff and volunteers, (110 paid staff and 360 volunteers) much of Fusion Australia’s achievement has been driven through exceptional long-standing volunteers and missionaries.
JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES
The Position of Accountant (National) has been created to support the National Finance Team to maintain financial oversight of Fusions 16 local centres, including financial reporting obligations, forward financial projections and business modelling, payroll back up and as required back fill some of the duties of the National Finance Manager who supporting an enterprise-wide ICT systems upgrade project.
The Accountant – (National) objectives are to:
- Develop strategic budget assumptions and formulate an economic flight path for each centre.
- Support annual budget preparation and roll out of annual budget.
- Develop centre by centre or programmatic/strategic financial forecasting and forward budget estimates.
- Development of our Building Company’s unit costing, job costing and reporting demands.
- Ability to undertake Payroll Management.
- Management of Fusion’s insurances.
- Backfill for National Finance Manager when required.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Budget Preparation - Oversee the preparation of budgets for submission to the Finance & Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
- Preparation of annual budget workbooks for centres including the review and distribution of internal costs.
- Liaise with and support centre leaders in preparing annual budgets.
- Review of centre budgets.
- Timely submission of budgets to the Board for approval.
Payroll Management - Oversee the payroll function and coordinate with Fusion’s outsourced payroll provider.
- Review employment contracts and employee onboarding.
- Coordinate with Fusion’s outsourced payroll provider for the processing of payroll
- Check payroll entries against timesheets and the application of multiple awards.
- Meet reporting requirements.
Financial Forecasting & Job Costing - Oversee the development and preparation of forecasting and job costing functions for management reporting.
- programmatic/strategic financial forecasting and forward budget estimates and reporting.
- Development of our Building Company’s unit costing, job costing and reporting demands.
- Development of cost allocation within the Building Company unit, centres and the organisation.
Insurance Management - Oversee Fusion’s annual insurance renewals.
- Relate to the insurance broker as necessary.
- Supervise asset listing management related to insurance policies.
- Facilitate timely annual signoff.
- Contribute to the internal distribution calculations of insurance costs to centres.
Finance Function - Backfill for the National Finance Manager when required.
- Ensure sound financial management in accordance with industry best practice.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of accounting systems.
- Contribute to the development of key processes to improve efficiencies.
- Contribute to audit and acquittals as necessary.
- Support the finance team as required.
Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Commitment to delivery of high-quality service through continuous improvement processes, appropriate risk management and ensuring safe organisation culture.
- Participate in outcomes measurement, & evaluation processes. Seek client feedback where appropriate
- Compliance with & contribution to WHS policies, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Promptly record and report all incidents and complaints according to Fusion requirements.
Professional Conduct and Relationship Management
- Work within Fusion’s shared values, philosophy, Policy &Procedures, Code of Conduct, including mandatory reporting requirements in NSW.
- Work within the Fusion framework of early intervention, diversity, inclusion, and non-discrimination.
- Support the induction, peer support and ongoing professional development of new workers, students and volunteers.
- Undertake the duties of other staff during periods of leave.
