• Permanent Part time EAL Trainer, teaching English to CALD adults in Flemington and Niddrie

Farnham Street Neighbourhood Learning Centre has been providing adult community education and social support programs to the local community for over 45 years. We work with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. ABOUT THE ROLE

Some of our students are newly arrived, some have lived in Australia for a long time, and many see our Neighbourhood House as a second home and place for social connection and learning.

You will:

• join a team of teachers and staff dedicated to building opportunities for learning and social connection.
• deliver quality pre-accredited, language, literacy, numeracy and employability programs to Adults who have English as a second language.
• create and maintain a classroom environment that promotes differentiated learning and values cultural and linguistic diversity.
• maintain learning resources, trainer and learner records, and comply with documentation required under the ACFE guidelines.
• deliver course content in accordance with ACFE pre-accredited training and FSNLC guidelines.
• deliver training services in accordance with FSNLC’s values and mission.

ABOUT YOU:

You will:

• have commitment and experience in working with CALD adult community members;
• have experience and qualification in teaching English as an Additional Language;
• be able to deliver pre-accredited sessions in language, literacy, numeracy and employability;
• have a strong knowledge of content areas and strong pedagogy strategies;
• be adaptable, with strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Be a good team player.
