FIG has entered into an incorporated joint venture with Carnarvon Petroleum Limited (ASX code CVN) to develop Australia’s first commercial-scale renewable diesel biorefinery. We are engaged in capital raising and advisory work for clients with technology or solutions helping to the transition the world to a zero-carbon economy and restore our ecosystems. We are also in the process of establishing a carbon project and funds management business to help scale up vital land restoration activities in Australia.

About the opportunity

The legal counsel / senior legal counsel will be a key team member engaged in supporting all the above initiatives on a part time basis as further described in the attached job description.

About you

You:

• Have trained in a great law firm but you want to work on more impactful matters and are looking for a change.
• You are a passionate and intelligent commercial lawyer with exceptional people skills and strong attention to detail.
• You have a bachelor’s degree in law and are admitted to practise in an Australian jurisdiction.
• You have 3-6 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a corporate or projects team with renewables or carbon experience and with some past experience in an in-house legal environment (e.g. secondment).
• You enjoy working in a fast paced and agile environment where your independence and initiative can achieve awesome positive impact.

Package and further details

$105,000 - $135,000 FTE per annum (inc super) (subject to experience level, reduced pro-rata for part time)
