The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture, also known as Foundation House, is a leader in delivering specialist trauma-focused services that work with the strengths and resilience of refugees, their families, and communities to rebuild lives shattered by torture and other traumatic events.

The Practice Excellence Area of VFST is core to ensuring that the services provided by Foundation House to clients and communities are delivered to the highest standard and are in line with organisational purpose, priorities, and obligations.

The Digital Learning Designer – Professional Learning and Workforce Development, is responsible for developing and implementing professional learning initiatives to support the skills and capabilities of Foundation House staff in frontline practice and use of the Client Information Management System (CIMS).

The Role

Reporting to the Professional Learning and Workforce Development Coordinator, this position manages and coordinates online course content and develops educational resources. This role will collaborate closely with the Information Management (IM) Team to ensure training and system user guides are consistent with current configuration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Recommend Collaborate with the Practice Development team, IM team and other subject matter experts to design and develop engaging, interactive, and outcomes-focused online and hybrid training modules within the Foundation House Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and adult education principles.
  • Maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting courses and learning resources in the Moodle LMS, to ensure reliable and accessible learning delivery.
  • Assist the IM Salesforce Enablement Specialist in developer and improving material for the CIMS training and enablement program.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and system literacy across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the development of new written and audiovisual training resources, including filming and editing.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of learning resources such as Articulate Packages, PowerPoint slide packs, participant workbooks, handouts, and training guides.
  • Contribute to the project management of eLearning modules, under the direction of the Coordinator, Professional Learning and Workforce Development, ensuring milestones and timelines are met.

The position is based out of our Brunswick office and is available as a fixed term contract; either full-time for three months, or part-time (0.6 EFT) for six months.

What you’ll need to successfully apply

To be successful, you will need to positively respond to the below selection criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification – Education, Instructional design, educational technology or a related discipline; or relevant professional experience
  • Proven ability to design and develop engaging, user-centred eLearning experiences and learning resources that align with adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency in authoring tools such as Articulate Rise, Adobe design tools Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign and Premiere as well as the Microsoft suite.
  • Good understanding of the Moodle LMS with the ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and support its functionality.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage components of digital learning projects, including scoping tasks, managing timelines and delivering outcomes within agreed timeframes.
  • Proven ability to lead tailored training programs for diverse user groups, including documentation, workshops, and one-on-one support.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining clear, user-friendly support documentation and training materials to assist staff in using client information systems effectively.
  • High level attention to detail and ability to collaborate with others to achieve team goals.
